"Yesterday me and my 5yo daughter went for piano & vocal class trial. Of course when making the appointment, I already informed the admin via whatsapp, how old my daughter was- since I wanted to know which class would be suitable for her at Purwacaraka. Hence I was given the trial schedule for said class. After piano class trial, we waited for the vocal teacher to finish her class- Ms Nonnie Cindy (also in instagram) was the vocal teacher, curly shoulder lenght hair. After her class finished we went in. She asked how old my daughter was, and her name. Then, basically she informed me on the spot that 5years olds CANNOT be taught vocal lessons. Due to their moody & instable behavior etc etc. Then I asked whether she has 5yo students or not. And she said no. I was totally confused by everything she said. Because to my knowledge, of course Ms Nonnie had already been informed beforehand by the admin that there would be a 5yo going for her vocal class trial. So WHY did she even agreed to it?? Me & my daughter then walked out of the class. And my poor daughter who was also confused & dissapointed, asked “why mommy, what happened? I thought we’re going for vocal class” Then I talked to the admin (Ms Linda, who was also the person I corresponded with via whatsapp, in making the appointment for trial classes). Why Ms Nonnie declined to even do the trial class for my daughter- wasnt she informed before how old my daughter was? Apparently the admin was ALSO confused, because when she informed Ms Nonnie that afternoon, that the 5yo girl who’s going for trial already arrived- Ms Nonny said OK. Also, when I first contacted Purwacaraka, the admin clearly said that Purwacaraka ACCEPT students starting 5 years old So why is there discrepancies between the school’s policy and the teacher’s? So then I sat there with the admin, waiting for Ms Nonnie to return. When Ms Nonnie arrived, I asked her to explain what happened. Again she generalized, and I quote “usually 5yo are not focused, moody, and has unstable behavior” Well, ISNT THAT THE POINT OF HAVING TRIAL CLASSES?? To see whether the applicant is capable/suitable or not. But nooo, she had to generalize that ALL 5yo ARE THE SAME. And didnt even give the chance for a trial class. Not only she made us wait, but most importantly she DISSAPOINT THE CHILD. I would totally understand if she had told the admin BEFORE we came for trial, that she doesnt take students under 6yo. But NOT AFTER the child has entered the class, hoping for a trial class, then she flat out rejected the child. Apparently Ms Nonnie didnt want to admit to the admin of her mistake in agreeing for a trial class for a 5yo. So she decided to tell us directly in class- hoping that I’d leave it at that. At the end after she apologized, she bluntly turned around and walked away 😂 what an attitude!! Im pretty sure all the parents out there wouldnt want their kids to be taught by someone who is judgmental, bias, and arrogant."
